In all, about 1 million illegal immigrants will benefit from the deferred action but they must follow a process that includes filling out tedious federal forms. So officials in Montgomery County, an affluent community well known for its illegal immigrant sanctuary policies, have generously offered to help. This week the county’s Department of Health and Human Services allocated $100,000 to provide application assistance to individuals who qualify for deferred action.

Adding insult to injury, the cash will go to a renowned open borders group (Casa de Maryland) that operates day laborer centers which are partially funded with public money. Casa is well connected because the assistant attorney general picked by President Obama to head the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) bloated civil rights division, former Maryland Labor Secretary Thomas Perez, once served as its president of the board.
I'm sure the taxpayers of Maryland don't mind.

It's doubtful Marylanders mind. The overwhelming majority of the state (around 87% IIRC) voted to allow illegal immigrants access to in-state tuition prices this election. 100k is almost nothing in comparison.

They need help filling out the forms? I thought these were top of the line high school graduates, those going for their GED, and those headed for college. It will be interesting to see how many actually graduate from college. I suspect a lot of them are doing it just for the ability to work here legally.

I'd def prefer illegal aliens to STAY illegal. Sheesh!

Actually, I'd rather they self deport, go to the back of the line and apply from their home countries. After all that's why we have laws.

What is wrong with that? They come to for work, anyways. At least they will then legally pay taxes, too.

Lot's wrong with that: illegal aliens push down wages for Americans and suck up services like medical care and so on for us. Illegal aliens broke many laws to come or at least stay here and WILL break many other laws because they're disrespectful to the US. Sheesh!

But they weren't invited to work here legally and we don't need them. If Americans were given back the jobs they took at a fair wage they in turn would be paying into our tax coffers. Not all come to work either. Some come for the education, healthcare and through giving birth on our soil they are entitled to all kinds of welfare benefits from them.

The "overwhelming" majority of 87%? I think not.

No 1,037,787 41.6%

Not to mention, Question 4 emphasized "students" residing in Maryland being eligible for in-state tuition, and included "honorably discharged veterans" to sweeten the deal. The referendum only mentioned "undocumented immigrants" ONCE. Only those familiar with the MD DREAM Act actually knew they would only be voting to approve in-state tuition for illegal aliens. Furthermore, CASA de Maryland is an ethnocentric organization that exclusively advocates for Hispanics. I doubt any non-Hispanic DACA applicants will see one penny of this money.

I also don't believe for one minute CASA and their unscrupulous cohorts didn't manage to resort to voter fraud to ensure the passage of yet another means for illegals to fleece the taxpayers of Maryland. As a Maryland taxpayer, yes, I DO mind.

Perhaps you have Question 4 confused with the following which was indeed "overwhelmingly" approved, as were Questions 2 and 3, with both receiving 80%+ approval.

Maryland is one of the most corrupt states in our nation. Nowhere is this fact more evident than with the state’s treatment of illegal aliens. Maryland politicians have literally become lawless in their efforts to cultivate illegals, and this lawlessness flows downhill from the very top. I will focus on a few of the more egregious examples.

In 2011, we published a report on CASA de Maryland, a Silver Spring-based illegal immigrant advocacy group that parrots ACORN in both its methods and associates—which include the Communist Party USA, FMLN, (a former Salvadoran communist guerilla group, now a political party), ACORN and others. Yet it is one of the most influential organizations in the state.
Quote:
CASA receives significant state government funding, while Director Gustavo Torres and his wife, Sonia Mora both hold influential positions within that same government. Torres is a member of the Governor’s Council for New Americans and served on Governor Martin O’Malley’s transition team. Mora sits on the Governor’s Hispanic Affairs Commission and manages Montgomery County’s Latino Health Initiative. This is unseemly if not illegal. Torres’ primary source of income is CASA de Maryland, and CASA owes its inordinate influence to its many supporters in state government.
Quote:
Torres’ influence extends to the White House. Former CASA Board member Cecilia Muñoz is President Obama’s Domestic Policy Director. Muñoz, who also worked for the National Council of La Raza, has been a persistent advocate for illegals throughout her tenure. Former CASA Board member Thomas Perez is now Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights in the Holder Justice Department. Many of the odious lawsuits launched by the DOJ have been under Perez’s pen, including suits against states’ voter ID laws, Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Arizona’s anti-illegal alien law.
Maryland

There is no way in hell Question 4 wouldn't pass, considering the influence of these corrupt officials. Anyone with an ounce of integrity realizes CASA's involvement in the Maryland government is a glaring conflict of interest. In fact, it's illegal for executives of so-called advocacy groups receiving funding from the State to also hold positions in State government. Sadly, Maryland is run by crooks. They are obviously above the law. It was only a referendum because more than enough signatures were received. Therefore, they had to allow it, knowing damn well they would control the results.
