I have been reading about these people and I was curious about what this forum thought of them.
There is French spoken in Louisiana, primarily in the dialects of Cajun and Creole, introduced to the area between 1755 and 1763. There is also French spoken in most states of New England by descendants of Canadian immigrants who arrived in the 19th and 20th centuries.
I have little doubt that they know English to some extent from schooling, but still, what do you think? Can someone whose first language is not English ever fit in in the USA? Even worse, are they something akin to foreign invaders? Should there be a push to assimilate them into our culture?

What has this to do with the illegal immigration forum?
To many of the people on this forum, white people can never be illegal immigrants, especially English speaking white people, and only white French speakers can be "real Americans".

Most people cite language barriers as one problem with having illegal immigrants. Some people go further and identify not speaking English with not being American, and/or that people ought to speak English if they live here. I'm wondering if immigrants ought to learn French in addition to English seeing as it has a deep-rooted history here and is a de facto language in some parts.

I don't what white Mexicans here either and I don't want white Irish and so on here either if they're ILLEGAL aliens.

French is like Spanish. Neither language is important in most countries; at least countries that are rich and strong. English IS.
Since most of those that contributed here don't seem to be interested in discussing the actual topic, only to prove someone is/isn't racist, I'm closing this thread as it's going nowhere constructive.
