As hard as I try to blame Obama, other than not having closed the border as he promised, this is simply a case of desperate people fleeing from horrid conditions.

Of course, it does not help that Dear Leader doesn't have the faintest idea what to do about it.
None of the prior 4 presidents had a solution. They have made attempts to close the border, walls, more agents and increased deportations and all failed. We should have been nation building in Guatemala and El Salvador rather than other places, the best way to stop illegal immigration is to raise their standard of living.

The cultures in ANY place need to change 1st, other wise it'd be pouring money down the toilet.

I think we have a considerable role in what happened in El Salvador, not so much Guatemala not sure about Honduras.

Not my problem. Let LatAm help their own. If those people hate the US so much for what we might've done there, then they can stay HOME. Sheesh!

Illegal immigration. Bizzaro world extrordinaire.
Old time liberals were a different breed. Walter Mondale and Ralph Abernathy actually participated in a march to the border with Cesar Chavez to demand the enforcement of the border -- but keep in mind that the very liberal Pelosis were the growers using illegals to make their billions of dollars -- and the very liberal greedy liberals are the ones that have taken over the left wing of politics.

That doesn't justify the complete shredding of all immigration laws and throwing the border wide open.

Current immigration laws are not being enforced at all --- we never needed "reform", all that was needed was enforcement of existing laws. Instead Obama has eliminated all enforcement of any kind of immigration laws -- at least for Central Americans.

Americans coming back to the USA have to show passports or proof of citizenship or face problems getting in -- but illegals with no passports or visas or anything are being waved on in. Why?

It is Obama's fault. It's every president's fault. Obama hasn't done anything to ward off immigrants. Bush Jr. was even worse and failed to close the border even though he had a wide opening to do so and perhaps could have pulled if off the easiest.

Not sure how this is relevant to what Oldglory said: "There is not a country in the world that would want their borders erased".
