By the process of elimination... to begin with, by closing our borders would GREATLY reduce the numbers of repeat illegal criminals entering. many do want to come and work, raise a family.. many come and still do not abide by our laws. Those from south of the border who have a criminal background can be weeded out from the ones who DO want to come over and work, raise a family, and abide by our laws. Gaining entry into America should be controlled.. it has to be.. otherwise we will need alot more prisons. Those who come LEGALLY will have a much better opportunity for jobs and so-on. Absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to come for a better life! Closing our borders would in fact insure anyone who comes here LEGALLY a much better co-existance with Americans. Legal immigrants have the right to be here... The repeat ciminal illegals won't even bother to apply via any legal process to begin with. Closing our borders to illegals will reduce the numbers of repeat violent illegal criminals GREATLY. Our prisons are now filled with over 30% of illegals who have a violent criminal record a mile long. yes we know Americans commit crimes.. we get that.. but the facts are:
less illegals= less crime, less illegals= less drugs, less illegals= jobs for those who enter legally, less illegals= more legal tax paying law abiding immigrants. Illegal criminals from south of the border do have an impact on those who are NOT criminals..

Good post. The tiresome point you allude to, regarding "illegal" crime, has been beaten to death earlier on the forum. It states, essentially that "Crime comitted by illegals is not significant, because we (Americans) ALREADY HAVE a lot of crme, and MOST CRIMES are committed by Americans"....or something like that.
Once again, for the 'umpteenth time', this is NOT a valid conclusion. "Local" crime is a 'given'...we are forced by circumstances to deal with it, period. "Foreign" crime is entirely preventable...if the criminals don't COME here, they can't commit crimes here.
It's no different than if you had some 'bad', disrespectful, rowdy teenagers in your family. You'd HAVE to deal with them--they're 'yours'. But you should not have deal with MY 'bad' kids--- you should send them home and let ME deal with them...An astoundingly simple concept, yet apparently beyond the 'grasp' of some folks...
Aside from that, this says NOTHING about illegals being 'bad' people. It's entirely possible that illegals, as a whole, may be 'nicer' people than Americans, and harder workers, etc etc. That has nothing to do with the CRIMINALS in their midst. Violent criminals are bad enough---but violent criminals who shouldn't even BE here are even MORE annoying. That's the point, nothing more....
