Guess what, pal? We feel oppressed. We feel we're suffering from the massive, uncontrolled influx of illegal aliens. We are caught up in something beyond our control. Where is your sympathy for us?
Consider the source.

come legally.. and Arizona wouldn't be kicking thier sorry butts out in the first place... And if anyone feels so sorry for them.. maybe they should go with them to help, like moral support and maybe give them money out of thier OWN pockets.. But be forewarned.. once you give.. they will take, take and take..

Gosh.. what am I thinking ... pro-illegals are fine with giving... as long as it doesn't come from thier pockets!

Socialists and communists? I said something which points to either?

I think you've made a strange leap by assuming I've said something only you appear to comprehend, or something.

Try to read what I said, and don't interject whatever else comes into your mind.
.
..

I have sympathy for those who cannot control their lot in life,

......just as I stated it.

That statement doesn't have anything to do with socialism or communism.
.
..

I hear people saying that the 'people of Mexico' ought to take control of their country and make it better.

That's a sentiment, or an opinion, ...an ideal that, probably no one would disagree with.

But, to what end is it said? Will it happen? Can it really happen overnight and 'fix' some problem here?

Whether they can or not, whether their election process is uncorrupted, and could be 'taken control of', only adds another question.

I imagine, and I'm sure many will agree, that just like some other places, there's a status quo that will be hard to unseat.

That said, there are Mexicans trying to do that. I read about it all the time, Mexicans try to group together in attempts to change the status quo, and 'retake' their government.

I wish them luck. Until they are successful, and even after, we won't know if that will fix things to our satisfaction.

There's more to the problem than just telling Mexico to get their house in order......
.
...

Now, what about us? Why is our house not in order?

Why have we not 'taken control' and fixed our country?

I have sympathy for people who vote for elected officials who are fooled once by an elected official, if an elected official breaks his campaign promises and acts against the interests of the people that elected them, then I have sympathy for the person who got fooled.

I have no sympathy for those who re-elect those same politicians who make the same promises, but then again continue to break those promises and continue to act against the best interests of the voters.

When I look at voting patterns and who is continually re-elected, and who continues to re-elect them, I'm not surprised 'our house is not in order'.

Too many of us keep choosing not to put our house in order.

I've got no sympathy for people who choose to be oppressed, and if I look at the last 35 years of our election history, I can't help but deduce the American electorate has chosen what they have created.

Sorry, I've got no sympathy for an electorate that refuses to believe what's right in front of them.

I have no sympathy for people who continue to vote for what they complain about.

That's not 'accepting one's lot in life', that behavior is guaranteeing your lot in life won't change.

Well said. Too many people weren't paying attention and they voted for the idiot who is our president. What do we do now though? I'm a strong backer of either Hillary or Obama on all issues except this illegal immigration. I can't imagine why they both want to continue this illegal invasion that saps our country's resources and is an insult to the people who have immigrated and continue to immigrate legally. We don't even know who most of these illegals ARE, what their backgrounds consist of or what diseases they may bring in with them. We allow them to steal our identities and become absorbed into our country without any accountability.

Why is this important issue ignored and who are we supposed to vote for? I'm not voting Republican and never have.

Why is it an either Hillary or Obama question?

What about Edwards?

Why is there an acceptance that Hillary and Obama are the only candidates?

As long as people continue to accept that the narrative is fed to them, instead of getting out front and driving the narrative themselves, we will keep being given choices we aren't happy with.

.
..

All politicians usually come up through the ranks, when we start getting involved in electing the local politicians we want, those politicians will be the new recruits being promoted up through the ranks.

What has been happening, is the American people from each party allowed themselves to become so apathetic that someone else jumped in and saw their chance to control who is in politics.

The corporate interests and their lobbyists saw that the people weren't paying any attention, so they started recruiting their hand picked for grooming.

Today, they are reaping the fruit of their efforts and finally some people are starting to look around and ask what happened.

What has to happen now is to start the process all over, starting at the local level and get involved so that in the future we have the kind of candidates we want,

....instead of accepting the lesser of two evils, both of which were groomed to serve another master.

It will take some few years, but that's the price we pay for our apathy.

If I have to cast a vote for less than my ideal candidate, I still won't cast that vote for necessarily the candidate someone else tells me is the frontrunner.

I'm looking to elect someone different than the same old, same old.

I'd rather look to someone who the old guard Party leaders want me to ignore. There's likely a reason why those who control the status quo don't want me to consider someone who doesn't agree with the old guard.

I'll be even more blunt, ArizonaBear . . . SUCH BLATANT OBNOXIOUS ARROGANCE!

They need to spend more time cleaning up their own backyard and leave ours alone.

The only reason for the current conditions in Mexico is the CORRUPT GREEDY LEADERS.

Which discounts our own greedy corrupt leaders?

Or the depths of their collusion with the power elite in Mexico?

If our President was not a traitor and had some back bone, he would tell these people to get their ass back across the border and stay there. What laws are passed in this country are OUR business, not YOURS.

Who do you think isn't qualified to speak of our laws?

Ain't that the truth, it's really sad when a country doesn't want its own people. But yet they expect another country to take care of their millions of undesirables they don't want.
