This election has been wild and wooly-------at best.

'Hispanics' today are much like Italians in the past, they are not a reliable source of votes for candidates of their same collective ethnicities.

Whereas till fairly recently; Irish tended to vote for other Irish------Tammany Hall comes to mind. Likewise, Blacks also tend to vote for their own-------Obama's upset victory against Hillary in SC yesterday is an example.

NOTE: I am referring to Americans of any of the above ethnic groups.

If Florida got rid of illegal immigrants, the oranges and tangerines you eat would be alot more expensive, especially if it goes overseas. The state will probably lose its Republican majority. Every immigrant suffers over these laws, legal or illegal.

Oh boo-hoo and nothing but BS. Most of us don't mind if we would pay a few cents more for oranges and such. The price would not go up like you think but you have shown a complete lack of knowledge about real economics.

Back to the issue--there is a such thing as a temporary worker visa that is LEGAL. The Hispanics have managed to get it blocked right now but there it is a LEGAL way for people from other countries to come here for seasonal jobs. Hispanics who are in favor of ILLEGAL immigration are trying to get us all mixed up so that we think that by stopping the ILLEGALS we will be hurting. A lot of Americans will fall for this.

Absolutely. No politician in this country -- no sane one, anyway -- is going
to touch any issue which has racism as a central core.

It's utterly essential to keep all discussions of massive illegal
immigration to the real core issues, which are:

1. Invasion is a violation of national sovereignty.
2. Though initially unarmed, the invasion causes real damage.
3. The real damage is to the economic and social structures of the US.
4. Extreme high risks with mid-low probability can result.
5. Massive corruption is growing because of the invasion.
6. Significant polarization in the voting public is occurring.
7. Extreme resentment at government inaction is widespread.
8. Failure to resolve the issue leads to growing problems.

etc etc.

So, if oranges go from 99¢ per lb. to $1.19 per lb., who exactly will be up in arms?
