And this is a bad thing ?

Less welfare spending !

I'm not too hot on the idea of handing out welfare to legal immigrants either .

If I move to say Mexico or China would they give me welfare and an EBT card?

"Some Los Angeles County immigrants who are eligible for food assistance programs are staying away because they fear enrollment will hurt their chances of becoming a permanent U.S. citizen or even lead to deportation, county officials said Wednesday."

"Still, Los Angeles County officials say they are hearing stories that immigrants with legal status or those who are undocumented are staying away from health and social services programs. At a county Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday, Supervisor Hilda Solis said she's hearing from residents in her district that pregnant women are afraid to go to hospitals to deliver their babies."

This is a trickle down affect.
Less illegals that contribute very little to the system but take much more than the average citizen does is a good thing.

Imagine the cost savings to welfare systems if we did not have illegal aliens.
Imagine the cost savings to health care if we did not have illegal aliens.

States like California would be amazed at their new found windfall of money, money that could be put to better use to help law abiding people.

EBT, Medicaid, WIC, housing allowance, and the list goes on. A poor, disadvantaged person in a country like Mexico, within easy reach of the USA would be a fool not to take advantage of these free benefits by dropping a bebe or two on American soil. The Democrats must be so proud of themselves!

Good! One shouldn't advertise that they are breaking the law by putting it out there. Maybe if they get hungry, they'll go home. Most have relatives in their home country and the cost of living will be much cheaper.

Some collect for both themselves (stolen identities) and their anchor babies.

And, yes, I oppose legal immigrants and also refugees from living off welfare yet they do at a huge expense.

Deportation fears stop some LA County immigrants from applying for EBT program
It's ridiculous to pay it and in Europe, asylum seekers travel back and forward to the country they claim they fear so much. Nothing has. Even done other then asking questions to the government why that is ok.

Over here it should be stopped right away to award illegal behavior with tax payers benefits

Why would immigrants stay away from the food stamp program? Wait..... immigrants with documents cannot receive these benefits until they have been in the United States for more than five years.

I also believe in California the federal law that immigrants (legal or illegal) are ignored and they don't have to wait five years.

I believe the cost of educating K-12 non speaking English illegal alien far out weights either welfare or HC cost.

Illegals should have always been afraid to use our social programs. They are criminals.

They came to use our social programs and as more came and couldn't get jobs (even the meat, dog food and farming industries here are highly mechanized) the more they lined up to be supported by the taxpayer and also drain the resources of charitable organizations, and this is one reason that e-verify is not the magic bullet to stop the influx.
