Yes, but many posters talk about shooting them...there is NO excuse for that.

Yeah, right.
The US currently has 40,000 troops stationed in Japan. I get the feeling that quite a few Japanese would be happy if they left. The real problem with using them on the border lies with Posse Comitatus.

There are also many in Bosnia too. I guess our govenment thinks it more important to keep the peace in other countries, rather than this one.

No it doesn't. The real problem lies with using troops on a border. They generally make lousey border guards. Their morale goes to hell. They become unsuited to their warrior role.

Border Guards are not warriors. They in fact are not even policemen. More somewhere between a bureaucrat and a cop.

It is a terrible thing to do to troops you expect to be able to fight.

They are not needed in Japan, they have the strongest economy in the world, our troops live there in a sub-standerd fashion there.

They are close to useless as border guards. You could use them to take over Mexico I suppose. Doubt the Mexicans would even fight.

Solves the problem as well. Turns all those Mexicans into Americans. Then they can live wherever they chose. And we have lots of cheap labor.

If they turned into Americans, and began living "wherever they wanted to", they'd no longer be cheap labor. They'd be as disagreeable and expensive and hard-to-please as American labor...which is what they'd be.

At THAT point, their employers would quickly lose interest in their cantankerous 'high-maintenance" work force, and drop them in favor of illegals from beyond Mexico....for example, Haitians. After all, illegal Haitians just want to WORK...Native-born Americans, or LEGAL immigrants, apparently DON'T....or so the reasoning goes, I'm told.

If it ever happens.......Once Illegals become Legal, they will no longer be of any use to employers.
