Deporting the country’s estimated 11 million illegal immigrants would cost nearly $125 billion, but allowing them to remain in the U.S. could cost taxpayers far more, according to a new report being released Thursday by a think tank that wants to see stricter immigration limits.
Steven A. Camarota, research director at the Center for Immigration Studies, crunched the numbers and found that the current population of illegal immigrants will drain nearly $750 billion from taxpayers over their lifetimes — amounting to six times the deportation costs.
“Sometimes people say look, we couldn’t deport everybody because it’s prohibitively expensive,” Mr. Camarota said. “But if your only concern is fiscal cost, it’s pretty clear that letting them stay is a hell of a lot more expensive.”
You can cut down the $125 billion even more if the U.S. deducts the deportation cost from the criminals' country of legal residency's foreign aid that they get from us. Maybe if these other countries see that they're getting less $$ from us they'll do more to keep their own people within their borders.

As always the people who claim to "crunch the numbers" are not taking considering the input from the immigrant workers, and any negative impacts of them not being here, they only consider the expenses. It is not an honest way to present the numbers. I would like to see the honest numbers.
What are the expenses to the taxpayer of having a US citizen go through life in US, not taking into account they money they spend, create, or pay in taxes? Such number would be irrelevant.
There are many sources/studies that say the cost/benefit analysis is basically a wash. Shopping for "studies" that support one's views is not productive.
Either way, when Trump gets done golfing, holding rallies and Tweeting, maybe he'll get right on this.
Want to stop illegal immigration? Imprison the people who hire them and shut down their businesses. Word of mouth will take care of the rest. No jobs, no reason to come here. Problem solved!
Okay let's look at something besides government costs.
How about your costs?
How many head down to the corner when their is a project to do on the house and pickup a few casual workers and pay them cash?
How many have an illegal gardener or housekeeper?
How many asked to see passports of every worker that came to reroof or repaint their house?
How many had apple pie this week?
All around you illegal workers are helping to subsidize your lifestyle and lowering your costs.
I got conserned few days ago when we got an estimate to add a patio roof, and the estimate was over double (almost triple) of what we paid for the same project at our previous residence. The contractor said prices have doubled, because it is almost impossible to find construction workers any more.
Yeah, cuz 12 million cheap laborers cannot possible drive down the cost of virtually everything.
