I have always known the vast majority of Americans are not as hardline as some would suggest here. They support a realistic and common sense approach to this complicated issue.
It sounds like kind of dumb people were polled. Those who can't put two and two together and who can't figure out that bringing in millions of impoverished, illiterate, lettuce pickers and selling them houses they could never afford is connected with what's happening to the economy.
Some of us actually remember when California was a successful state with excellent schools, and it's amazing because those days weren't that long ago.
So these people believe just throw the borders open even wider, let the Mexicans come in to use the schools and hospitals without paying a dime and don't worry about any consequences to all that. Let them bring the value of houses down with their interest-only loans because they want to send $600 a month back to Mexico instead of spending it on mortgages and they can live 5 families in a 1 family home and bring down the value of their neighbors homes.

Surely you cannot compare to the hundreds of thousands of Americans who borrowed on the sub-prime loans to just a couple of illegals?

Whoa whoa come down from that fantasy mountain top where you look down upon everyone (is Glenn Beck up there with you?)
Your arrogance and belittlement of others make you sound like a very affluent Californian.

Ooops I guess not.
I still live in that state with those exact things, as well as many here in CA do. Looks like your neighborhood was overran by poor people, it happens in every major city in America. Appears you are not that rich and mighty since you lived in area targeted by illegals, get out of the ghetto High and Mighty malamute. Go make more money or move to the sticks, that is the way America works right? Free open commerce.

How many Americans did the same thing?
Good thing you have Mexican people to funnel all your blame to, maybe you should have tried harder in life.
I'm against giving amnesty to anyone from any country who comes over here illegally. That said, I don't see how illegals could have purchased homes en masse.
Sure, maybe a few did, but millions??? They would have had to have had fake Social Security numbers, wouldn't they? I had to give my # when I applied for my home loan.
By the way, I know hundreds of people in my area of California who are extremely concerned about the illegal alien situation and are very frustrated that our government refuses to do anything about it. Maybe the difference is that there is such a HUGE population of illegals in my area and a lower population in comparison of illegals in San Francisco. It's amazing how much that makes a difference.
In my opinion, Immigration and the Economy are linked to each other in many ways. I don't care if they said Immigration was 10th on the list it's still a major concern when it comes to economics.

I agree with the poll Blacknight , seems fair and balanced to me. If they have not committed any crimes and are leading normal lives, why not.
Thanks for posting that BTW
