And they aren't fearful hiring a smuggler or coyote? And where do they get that money to pay them? Let me guess. They agree to carry in drugs for them. Why aren't they seeking asylum in Mexico or some South American country?

Asylum seekers ARE going to the POE's to apply. But everyday it is the same sign, Closed Today, Come Back Tomorrow. Seriously. DHS has shut down the process at the POEs. Immigrants have no choice but to try to make it between POEs.

Another example of the US government circumventing laws.

The Hondurans and Guatemalans walk in large groups through Mexico usually without coyotes. Mexico's economy cannot support them, though they grant work permits when they can. My guess is it is probably too dangerous to take a southern route to S.A.

That's PARTLY true. These totalitarian governments of GTA, Salavador and Honduras have let their economies go to crap. My guess is that most asylum seekers are both in fear of their lives in their homeland as well as very poor.

An attorney can represent them in court here.

No unaccompanied minors will be permitted to cross the border, period. If their parents are here they all have to go home and apply at the US embassy closest to where they live there and as a family unit. The age for unaccompanied minor classification threshold will be 18.

Mandatory Sentencing

If anyone overstays their visa, 5 years in jail followed by deportation with no chance to ever return to the US.

If they cross the border illegally, automatic 5 years in jail. If they are thrown out of this country and return illegally, automatic 10 years in jail when caught.

Employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens get 3 years in jail.

If they have the proper paperwork to be here and commit a crime, they will be treated the same as any American criminal with the exception that after they complete their sentence, if convicted, they will lose the right to stay here.

The DACA date threshold will be 12/31/17 for whatever the politicians decide to do with DACA people.

All prisons to house illegal aliens who have committed crimes will be built at Guantanamo. Illegal entry only aliens will be separated from violent illegal alien criminals in prison.

---------------------------------------------------

Refugees will all be resettled in the home towns of the politicians on Capitol Hill who advocated for more.
I like your ideas on closing the Border! Excellent.
You sentencing ideas are good, but not realistic. There are too many visa overstays to have room for everybody caught to serve five years. 5 years for any illegal caught would also run out of room in the jails and prisons. Re-entry already is prosecuted and those illegals get 2-5 years in prison.
I like your idea of jail time for employers that hire illegal aliens.

Finally, I wish you were a U.S. Senator!

we should be ashamed....

Very few are ever granted asylum because immigration is meticulous when checking out the “asylum” seekers. Knowing this, I am relieved; however, these same people are let loose in the US with a promise to show up for their court hearings. Approximately 80% do not follow through and remain at large in the country. Even the GPS trackers are cut off, so those aren’t of any use.

For the open border aficionados, we can expect 45 million more to come on in. Not very realistic plus our economy will collapse under the burden of paying for them.

We also have US citizens who don’t feel safe and are very poor. They and veterans should be considered first before letting in an endless line of foreign borns “fleeing” their countries.

Why is the US the preferable destination besides the obvious? They know we will ignore our own immigration standards because the US touts itself as the land of opportunities (that is, before we run out).

There goes blaming the government again. Jeez.

Ever consider there are so many that the DHS cannot keep up? And why should they? We cannot take in the entire world’s poor. The US provides more in foreign aid than any country on earth.

What about ones who come on tourist visas and then work?
