Some day wars may be fought by cut and paste or posting links, I'm not convinced. An American sees foreigners in the US desecrating the flag and proudly displaying theirs while demanding rights that dont belong to them. What would one expect the reaction to be? Seriously what would you expect the reaction from Americans be? Missing the point???
please justify opposition to displaying foreign flags in some instances but not in others. Can't
At issue is NOT the display of foreign flags. Rather, the context in which the flags are being displayed; as well as the message being communicated. In other words; waving Irish flags at St. Patrick’s Day festivities is appropriate, and does not disrespect our country anymore than displaying a flag from an NFL team on one’s car during football season. However, it would be inappropriate and disrespectful for a group of Irish illegal aliens to march in our streets demanding amnesty, while waving Irish flags. If they want to be embraced as potential U.S. citizens; it would behoove them to show allegiance to this country rather than their country of origin.
Surely you can differentiate between a jovial cultural celebration and a hostile anti-American protest. An illegal alien carrying an inverted U.S. flag on one side, and an upright Mexican flag on the other -- sends a definite message. It sends the same message as burning a U.S. flag.
The linked pics aren’t from yesterday’s marches; they’re from 2006 & 2007. Why am I not surprised? In any case; there are plenty of images from prior marches and yesterday showing protestors waving foreign flags and other anti-American behavior. Obviously, they still don't get it. If they want to become U.S. citizens so badly, why do they continue to disrespect this country? Oh....that's right -- they really don't want to become Americans; they only want to be legalized.
Furthermore, they are only carrying U.S. flags because the organizers have instructed them to do so. Otherwise, there would be few…..if any. We certainly couldn’t march in the streets of Mexico carrying U.S. flags. We would promptly be arrested.
Notice the following photo from yesterday. He carries an inverted U.S. flag, and has a Mexican flag on the opposite side. If this is not flagrant contempt for our country, I really don’t know what would qualify. And they have the audacity to sport "Legalize LA" t-shirts. They are the antithesis of the type of people we need as “immigrants.”
of course, when white people get together and wave foreign flags it's never anti-American. talk about a double standard
St.Patricks parade, Savannah, GA (note foreign flags)

A heritage day parade by legal immigrants is not at all the same thing as a day where foreign citizens demand that their race has a right to break any American law they find inconvenient.
If those Irish flags are being waved by illegals from Ireland demanding that because of their race, they are not required to abide by any USA law they don't like, then deport the whole bunch.
No one is missing the point on the Mexican flags. They wave them to show they remain "loyal" to the nation of Mexico, they view this as a conquest of the USA.
In the 2006 marches, it was interesting -- they came out "proudly" waving their gigantic Mexican flags, were very in-your-face about their patriotism to Mexico until their leaders, the Mexican government through it's Consulates realized that was a turn-off to the people of the USA, and ordered up a bunch of little American flags for them to wave.
Notice that after they were instructed to wave USA flags, they lost interest in these marches. They have no loyalty, no respect for the USA, and in fact the purpose of the marches is to force us in to accepting that they believe they have no obligation to respect our laws.
For some reason they figure they are to flaunt the immigration laws, they believe those laws are for suckers to follow, they see legal immigrants as nothing but chumps and figure they are to be given easy citizenship as a reward for breaking our laws.

Along the lines of what you just described; I bet the main reason the May May 2008 marches fizzled as badly as did was due to the growing hostility by us Americans to the above traitors.
Look at just the Arizona and Oklahoma laws pertaining to illegal immigration enforcement------with many other states following.
Anymore; it is too risky to be here illegally (or have family members who are) and flaunt it-------ICE and co. are 'cleaning house'.
Note how many of the pro illegal posters here on this Forum are becoming more and strident in their defence of anything 'Hispanic' (even if it means supporting illegal immigrant 'rights' here in the USA)-------that means they are running scared IMHO. Why I say Hispanic is about 85% of the illegals hail from Mexico/Central America.

Oh good lord. Are you really going to expect the rest of us to believe that you don't have the goods to distinguish between a heritage parade and a protest march?
Here's a little hint for you. You won't find the Shriners doing their gig on their little motorcycles in the midst of a protest march.....
