the article you linked said 30-33% of construction workers were illegal. so one might expect it to drop by 1/3.

Of course, all of this depends on the sentiment being "Oh gosh, we can't have that!" and not "Why are they [including the business] brazenly allowed to break the law?"

Pro-immigrant folks can talk about how badly we need to reform immigration laws. Do y'all think we're going to eliminate them down to disallowing only folks that are violent criminals or drug traffickers? Stop deporting those who commit serious crimes? Do y'all think we should just do another amnesty but THEN start enforcing laws?

What is unfair about the existing immigration laws, beyond how LEGAL immigration is conducted and the # allowed annually?

Amnesty and even talk of amnesty is what has helped put us in the sorry shape we are in right now! I could see the population of illegals grow whenever some horse's behind Dem mentioned amnesty! When Trump was in office talking securing the border, I saw some loading up and heading from Kansas moving south! Some were concerned that they would be separated from their families still in their mother country.

If we are going to give them amnesty, open all the prison doors in the USA and let those people out, at least then, the money we save on prisons can be spent on the moochers that have entered illegally.

It made me angry today when I looked at where my sewing thread came from, and it was Mexico. There are jobs in Mexico, many jobs that were previously in the USA. I know someone that just spent a week in Mexico and wished she could have spent longer, so I am guessing with all the people that travel there, that there is no reason other than the mooching for the illegals to storm out borders. Yeah, they want amnesty, but all they really need is "asylum" as that gets them the full array of public assistance while 1/2 million citizens are homeless!
