The documents also show the estimated cost under a third-party contractor, including a lease for a building, would be about $465,000 a month – just under $5.6 million a year. The county would then hire a contractor to run the center from among those who’ve turned in proposals.

U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar, D-El Paso, in a statement said she spoke with Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas on Friday to ensure that nonprofits and local governments are reimbursed by the federal government “for stepping up to help arriving migrants.”

Someone posted this quote in a Yahoo article.

This REALLY happened in El Paso TX last week. A group of Venezuelans ate at a resturant ,then REFUESED to pay saying that they had been told everything in America is free for them- they walked out and the police did NOTHING. .This was just one instance and never made the news. Its a eye witness account that the news NEVER prints

I have heard before that they think everything is free here, and for many of the illegals, that is correct once they start dropping anchor babies, overwhelming the food banks, and of course, some of those sanctuary cities are giving us a reputation saying that everything is free.

I think any of those allowed in the country that break rules, laws, statutes, etc. should immediately be deported.

I once heard that the word on the street was that our country was so rich, the streets were made of gold. Yes, I am serious, I spent time in SW AZ.

Off topic, but imagine with these people pouring in, how many more citizens will be out of work, as shady contractors hire them, since they work cheaper, and if they get hurt, they can be treated for free at the hospital by not saying it was work related.

I saw the most amazing thing the other day, English speaking roofers! I knew that this family had been waiting a long time to get their roof repaired, and now I realize why. I had my husband write down the name of the company. It has been more than a 2 decades since I heard English being spoke from the roof top, and here in KS, we get a lot of hail and wind damage.

More info here:

According to the article:
"The released migrants have been processed and allowed into the United States to await their immigration hearings. Most have families waiting for them in different cities across the country, but many Venezuelans do not have families or sponsors in the U.S.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection collects information on the migrants and runs background checks before they’re released from custody, the statement reads. Those found to pose a public safety risk remain detained."

Somebody please tell me how these "migrants" just happen to have family here in the U.S unless they are also here illegally?
