A state representative has introduced a proposal for an amendment to the Connecticut Constitution that would grant non-citizens the right to vote in state and municipal elections — he knows it will fail.

For Rep. Juan Candelaria of New Haven, the purpose of the proposal is not to have it pass, but to lay the groundwork for future policy in a state that is home to 240,000 non-citizen immigrants, approximately half of which are undocumented.

Outrageous indeed! And look at the surname of the Rep. who is proposing it and his remarks about it including using the PC word of "undocumented" for illegal aliens. How do these traitors get voted into office?

He was born in Puerto Rico, so that may have something to do with his stance. He owns an insurance agency along with his "elected" position. I saw nothing impressive about him in my search. I suspect he speaks Spanish, so could heavily "court" that population if they were allowed to vote, while that would put a non-Spanish speaking rival at a GREAT disadvantage.

I suppose it would help him, and probably has helped him sell insurance.

He should go back to Puerto Rico, if he cannot support our system.

So will those of us from out of state be allowed to vote in CT also? I'll drive the bus with all those who vote like I do. LOL
