Basically the only ones who benefit from "help with labor costs" are those who use them. Cost reductions, because of the much lower pay, are not passed on to the consumer...one only needs to go to the grocery store to realize that.
Citizens also "pay at retail stores with cash", but fewer are able to do that because of illegals.
All in all, there is really no benefit they add to the economy.
That poster talks out of both sides of their mouth. One time they are praising these illegal aliens and the next time they are doing the opposite. I have no use for those who speak with a forked tongue, aren't clear and flip flop on their positions. I have them on ignore.
Yeah, sure they "help". They end up depressing wages. It's so bad that there are sleazy employers who pay them under the table. BTW, if you are a homeowner you need to check your state laws.
In my state if you hire a person who isn't licensed and insured to work on your property and that person gets injured, your homeowners' insurance policy won't cover it. You will be personally liable for the employee's injuries.
They pay at retail stores with cash
So what? Plenty of Americans also pay in cash. What's your point?
They contribute to the economy overall.
Nope. They don't contribute anything to our economy. IOW, they are parasites who take far more than they give.
Yep, they are able to steal jobs from Americans by working for less. How is that a positive for our society? What about their enormous social costs and how they overcrowd our schools, jails, healthcare facilities, roads and neighborhoods? How about the added crime and just for starters committing felony ID theft or tax evasion? It puts more demands on our natural resources to. The only ones who benefit from them are the greedy employers who hire them while the rest of us get the shaft.

For everyone collecting you had about ten paying in. After WW II we had the boomer generation. Millions paying in. The fund was large. Then they started allowing early retirement, they turned it into a disability program and then the birth rate dropped. The average life expectancy is now over 70. And the massive boomer generation is retiring. More and more people are collecting and there are only two people paying in for each person getting benefits. Money is going out faster than it comes in. The massive amount in the fund is dropping fast and will soon run out. You have two options. 1.. Reduce benefits. And they are doing that. Years ago they made Social Security benefits taxable. More recently they are raising the age you need to be to get full benefits. They may reduce the COLA and it will fall short of inflation. 2. Increase money going in. They are going to raise the cap so each high income worker will pay more into the system. But there are not enough of them for that to fix the problem. How about get new workers? If you let in ten million workers every year they will be paying into the fund and it will keep on going, taking the pressure off the politicians today. So open the borders, let them in. Alternately, increase the birth rate. That will help in 18 years when they start working but not by much. But let's do it anyway. Let's make it that if a woman gets PG in any way, rape, statutory rape, incest, it does not matter, make them have the baby, ban abortion. that could add a million new workers a year, starting 18 years from now. Do not like either solution? Then come up with a third option. (Rehash, first is cut benefits, second is more workers by immigration and banning abortion, and third? )
There have only been 10 years where SS took in less ten it took in, 7 years in the late '70's and the last 3 years
I was thinking about the overall affect this new batch of Illegals will have on our economy. They have been using the 10 million # for so long its probably really 15 million. So we have an additional 15 million people to feed so grocery stores, transportation stocks should go up? It will definitely have an affect on entry level housing, so that won't be getting any less expensive for poor Americans, but as an investment low income housing should be great!
What else? Good, bad or indifferent?
They just let in 8 million more immigrants, 97% of which will become illegal when they stay after their asylum claims are rejected.
We already had 20 million in the nation. We are probably pushing 25 million illegals by now.
The official number will ALWAYS be 11 million, because 10 million just sounds to pat.
