Blackmailed? No.

However, in our wildly partisan 2 party system they are entrusting that the democrats have their best interests at heart....or at least see no alternative in the republican party.

As a result, they are IMO taken for granted and don't realize how the surge in illegals and off-shoring via legislation by NAFTA has created wage pressures on lower skilled and entry level jobs which disproportionately has hurt black americans. (Points to the unemployment rate).

Off-shoring of jobs and importation of illegals benefits the educated and more affluent members of society. Simple supply and demand.

Anybody in the US, regardless of race not seeing this naive.

If I were back I would very pissed off about the illegals stealing jobs and those who hire them. In fact I would most likely be in jail for what I would do about it.

If only the illegals would have worked for reforms back in their own country, if they could produce a Martin Luther King, they wouldn't have to flee their own country and come here to ride the coattails of the black American Civil Rights movement. These are not people capable or willing to work for reforms in their own countries, they never faced slavery in this country but they want to exploit the sacrifices of others for their own benefit.

These are people who really don't give a damn about their countries or their people. They'll never go back home and do anything to improve the situation there.

Uh; the Mexican illegals at least ARE capable of fighting for their rights IN Mexico but it's way too easy to be in the US instead IMHO. Black Americans had their backs against the wall; they had NO place to run off too, it was either fight back or be in Jim Crow for more years.

True -- they could but they aren't about to demand their rights in their own country because it's all too easy to come here illegally and then demand everything here. It would require too much effort for them to actually work to improve their own countries. Very easy to come here and demand the civil rights others actually worked for.

Ironically while the illegals use the black civil rights movement, it bothers them not at all that black inner city unemployment is rising and that unemployment rates of black women have gone up in recent years. For the illegals, it's all about them, they don't care what happens to Americans. They want their big easy money and nothing else matters.

No. I think they were pandered to until the election was over.
Plans for amnesty weren't discussed during the campaign for a reason.
