These numbers are comparable to the findings in a June survey on the same topic. At that time, 83% directed their anger at the federal government, while only 12% blamed the illegals themselves.
That's just the opposite on this board.

The only people I ever meet who want open borders, unlimited immigration, and amnesty for illegals are the cheap labor types who want their labor costs brought way down. That includes the yuppie housewife who wants the convenience of a cheap live-in illegal maid/nanny so she doesn't suffer the indignity of looking for a babysitter or day care when she wants to play tennis.
Why would Americans want massive and unlimited immigration when we're already facing rising taxes, falling wages, job loss and so on?

Everyone knows that legalization of the ones here means millions of newcomers will be pouring over the border as they begin to bring in their extended families. Elderly parents who want a comfortable lifestyle in the USA, long-lost cousins who want a higher paying job than the one at the maquila, children they gave up years ago -- amnesty will be the opportunity to bring them all over.
Why do they want amnesty so badly? It's not that they aren't already getting many welfare handouts and free health care without it. It's not that they can't find low-paying low-skilled jobs and employers who will hire them, who prefer to hire them over Americans because of the labor cost savings.
They want amnesty because Bush came out and said it, they can bring in their family members once they get it, they will qualify for social security retirement checks -- even if they worked here less than 2 years.
