Why is the word 'illegal' a slur that the anti defamation league needs to get involved? It is the truth.
Why are these groups wanting an open border...or really, no border at all? Who will gain from an influx of uneducated, unskilled immigrant labor and voting force? Not the average US citizen. But the businesses will, the lobbyists will, the community organizers will, the politicians will.
Why are we allowing ourselves to be sold down the river by those people who are supposed to represent us? Why are we allowing ourselves to be guilted into not saying a peep when we are told that there are no countries, that there is no nation, that there should not be a commonality between peoples of this land, and in fact that there should not be a US at all? Or at least not one that 'discriminates against people of different nationaliites'? Wth people?!
The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) launched the Wave of Hope campaign to stem the surge of hate and violence that has surrounded the immigration debate. The rhetoric of hate groups, nativists, and vigilantes—once limited to the fringe of American politics—has gained a strong foothold in the public debate. Their policy positions frame the country’s political discourse, and their members have penetrated the mainstream media. In short, extremists are defining the debate on immigration—and the portrayal of Hispanic Americans—at every level. NCLR, which hosts this site, believes strongly in the values of this nation, in pluralism, and in the ability of every American to share the rights and responsibilities of this great country. We also believe that hate has detrimental consequences for both policymaking and America’s values, undermining the strength and integrity of our country. The time has come to take hate out of the debate. Immigration is a serious issue requiring a reasoned and thoughtful debate.
When the NCLR learns to tell the difference between legal and illegal immigration, then I might listen to what they have to say. Until that day comes, if ever, NCLR's babble is all white noise to me.

That's a cop out.
Do you agree or disagree with what they are saying?

It's not a cop out. This situation is not as cut and dried as you would like to make it.
When I feel that the folks at the National Council of The Race are a reliable, unbiased source of information, then I will pay attention to what they have to say. I'm not holding my breath though.
Obviously, any group that calls itself THR RACE is likely to be quite biased! In other words, think KKK Azteca Style...Nothing these creeps say can be trusted on any level. Lo siento, pero no quiero La Raza en Los Estados Unidos!
