Calls For A Halt On Raids

Since the election, immigrant advocacy groups and Democratic members of Congress have intensified their calls for a moratorium on immigration raids, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has talked of finding a way to end them. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) says the undocumented workers being arrested and deported have millions of family members who are legal residents or U.S. citizens, and he says the effect has been devastating.

"You have single mothers now," Gutierrez says. "You have young, 15-year-old kids with no father. Think about that a moment. And the government took your dad away."

Oh puleeze, they leave children behind in Mexico all of the time and come here and start entire families and forget their first set of children even exist.

I'm so sick of hearing about their children, I could scream. There are millions of children of incarcerated U.S. citizens living each day without parents. Should we simply empty our prisons and release all parents?

Also, as you stated, they have no problem abandoning their children to "seek a better life" here.

In light of the fact that they come here and use them as anchors, meal tickets, welfare checks and their overall source of income, as far as I'm concerned they're no better than the average street pimp.
