The new bishop of Arkansas has a strong message for Roman Catholics: Christmas is an immigrant’s story.

"Does Jesus find a warm welcome in our communities?" writes Bishop Anthony B. Taylor, a Fort Worth native, in a pastoral letter read last Sunday in parishes across Arkansas.

What a complete boob.
Why the IRS is still allowing certain churches to retain their tax free status, I will never know.

I agree. Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus MAY have been 'immigrants' by some stretch of today's meaning....so what? They probably rode a donkey instead of a car, did without refrigeration and indoor plumbing, never ate fast food, and left a VERY small "carbon footprint". Wonderful. So what's the point?

It sure is. They were ABIDING by the law. The law that required them to be counted for a census. They were not breaking a single law of any nation.

Leave him alone, he's just doing his job.

They had a meeting and the vote was unanimous. They need to replenish their coffers and recruit several fresh batches of molestation victims too.

After all, legal fees are astronomical and catholic Americans are still stinging with outrage.

Joseph and Mary were not illegals, they were on their way to Bethlehem to be registered. They were obeying the law.
It isn't as though we in the USA neglect the poor of the world. Look at what other countries receive from the United States. Billions of dollars and our most precious possessions....our children.
We sent out sons and daughter to fight for freedom and to die for freedom all over the world.
However, we also fought for the preservation of our way of life, our constitution and our country.
The illegal aliens have broken our laws by entering the country illegally, attaining employment illegally, assuming social security numbers and benefits illegally, drive uninsured cars without licenses or insurances. Either we are a country under the rule of law applied equally to all or just abandon the court system and let everyone live like the illegals...loutside of the law.

Wasn't it Jesus who said, "Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's?"

Joseph, Mary and Jesus had to make a quick escape over into Egypt to save the Christ Child from being killed by Herod. That is recorded in history about the killing of the Innocents. Not only were they immigrants, but probably illegal, like most of the IRA escapees in this country today. How many people know that while we got really traumatized by 9/11 and are tightening our borders, 26 European nations have an agreement for borderless travel.

Apples and oranges here.

The poorer Euro nations had to adhere to strict standards prior to the Schengen Agreement being extended to them. Obviously; Mexico needs to clean up its own backyard first.

As for IRA types: they need to be booted out as well if here illegally or submit to being held in detention centers prior to their hearings.

Re: JC and Mary------------they would count as political refugees today----------a different situation entirely.
