Never assumed that it was all one sided. In fact quite the opposite. The fact remains. Had these illegals not invaded this country then they would not have been victim of american crimes.
The lesson is, it isn't always the evil villainous illegal preying on the poor innocent Americans. It can be the other way around as well.
If people chose to live in a criminal subculture, they should not be surprised that they are prone to victimization. It doesn't make it right, but it is a fact of life. There is no honor among thieves. Don't think for a minute that other members of this subculture - yes, innocent ones at that - are victimized quite regularily because the others see an easy mark. Again, is it fair? Far from it! But that is the reality that these people chose. Instead of whining about it, perhaps they should have weighed the option of bettering their own country before immigrating illegally to a new one. Or maybe they should consider learning English as a way to integrate themselves into the society of the country they wish to call home as oppossed to demanding that the police department hire cops who can speak Spanish. Another way to prevent their victimization would be to stop having anchors....I mean children that they cannot afford. A box of condoms are a hell of a lot cheaper then childbirth, daycare, and the cost of raising children....unless you renege on the hospital bill and get 'emergency medicaid' to pay for your kids.
Nevermind, how ridiculous to expect illegal immigrants to lose their entitled mindset even in the face of dangerous living conditions. Whatever was I thinking?

SeabeeBolt,
I don't think that's fair. They already had the jobs until bus loads of illegals showed up.

After Katrina, our company had 70 workers on the job the first day, but the companies decided they didn't need them anymore because the Mexicans had arrived," Mrs. Swope said. "I assure you it is not true that Americans don't want to work
Interesting article about how Latino immigrants are reshaping and rebuilding post-Katrina New Orleans.
Also interesting in the article is the crimes committed against immigrants by Americans.
Some proof that there is no accurate record of crimes being committed against immigrants, since they will not report the crime unless it's a life or death situation(see part about man getting shot).
Article discusses the good and the bad of the soaring immigrant population. Mentions illegal presence ballooning costs of health care, also discusses the city being rebuilt.
I have witnessed the fact that local, legal citizens are given the first
opportunities to do the work, however over and over, most prove to be to inefficient and /or lazy and need to be let go, to br replaced with migrant
workers that are highly motivated and productive.

Total BS prove it.....
I did drywall with my brothers. We hung any where from 100 to 130 boards a day depending on the construction. We used glue and screws.
Illegals with 6 people will hang the same amount. For about half.... They use nails.. No glue no screws an inferior job. No warranty no calling them back if something fails. Inferior follow through.
Save the BS for a more gullible forum.
Gregory Rodriguez supports illegal aliens rebuilding New Orleans
Gregory Rodriguez - a contributing editor to the Los Angeles Times - offers "La Nueva Orleans". He discusses how illegal aliens from Mexico will help rebuild New Orleans and then will settle there, displacing the original population of blacks and whites. Obviously, if we were talking about whites displacing blacks and Hispanics that would be considered racist, but - in the "liberal" worldview - it's not racist to encourage Hispanics to displace black and white Americans.
He covers the points previously discussed here in "Word is out, illegals coming for rebuilding jobs", "Give Illegal Aliens' Jobs to Unemployed Katrina Victims", and "Will illegal aliens take rebuilding jobs?"
Obviously, no American should support this, but clearly some people - including president Bush and Sen Harry Reid - do support it. Rather, we should do whatever is necessary to encourage and allow American workers to rebuild an American city. Unfortunately, some people are conflicted due to racial reasons or because they're corrupt.
He ends with this:
Last week, the White House said it will push its plan to allow illegal immigrants already in the U.S. to become legal guest workers. Good. Hurricane Katrina exposed the nation's black-white divide. Post-Katrina reconstruction will soon spotlight the hypocrisy of refusing to grant legal status to those who will rebuild the Gulf Coast and New Orleans

Most of those employers use that for an excuse. First they hire citizens so they can say the took the legals steps, then they find a way to replace them with cheaper labor.
