It's a straightforward test of what America is about: Do we punish children for the actions of their parents?" said Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J. "If, as we try to pursue comprehensive immigration reform, we can't get this simple element done, I don't know what we can get done."
Opponents disagree.
"It's a massive amnesty effort being laid for this fall," said Bob Dane, a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform, which seeks to restrict immigration. "Since many of these illegal (immigrants) and their families are overwhelmingly on the lower end of the economic scale, they're going to take the lion's share of need-based financial aid."
Among the College Board's findings:
About 360,000 illegal immigrants who have a high school degree could qualify for the tuition aid. Another 715,000 immigrants between the ages of 5 and 17 would also benefit if they are motivated to finish high school and pursue a college degree.

All of these ethnocentric, racist anchor babies masquerading as representatives of America would better serve America and their raza by leaving American government, and exercising their dual citizenship by running for office in mexico. That way they can fulfill their racist agenda and stop trying to ride 2 donkeys with one ass on our dime and at the expense of our sovereignty.

It's obvious that they are not happy that Senor Boosh didn't finish signing those documents and manifest THEIR much anticipated "destiny".

DREAMies need to forget about the U.S., and simply return to their countries of origin. This bill defies logic. Why on earth would we want to legalize them and reward their parents’ illegal efforts? We don’t grant special privileges to the children of U.S. citizens who violate laws in this country; so why should we reward people who have no right to even be here?

It's time to start taking care of disadvantaged Americans instead. There are Americans who are being penalized because their parents wages have been pushed very far down by having the borders opened to all takers. College tuition has not kept up with the stagnation of American middle class wages.

Excellent point! Where are the advocacy groups for U.S. citizens? We keep hearing about the poor illegal aliens who just want to attend college; but we hear nothing in support of U.S. students who would also love to have the opportunity for a higher education. What happened to “charity begins at home?”

I will fight this bill tooth and nail.

Actually; the so-called 'North American Union' may be a PC way of saying Manifest Destiny; read that the USA from the Yukon to the Yucatan---------with English only and essentially present US law holding sway.

I 'see' the Law of Unintended Consequences at work here if the la raza types 'win'------------it will backfire very badly on them with the virtual death of Hispanic (and Quebecois) culture.

Yes we do, they get judged as minors, not adults. That why from time to time you can hear for a motion to treat a children as an adult. And their criminal records get sealed after they have turned 18.

When Americans' are caught committing a crime they are punished which results in their children suffering the consequences of their parents' actions. Yet illegal alien children are demanding and expecting to be rewarded for the crime of illegal entry and their further commission of crimes in order to remain in the US illegally.

Apparently, Benicars' post went right over your head.

Probably, How so? Please do elaborate.

Benicar's post are generally well though out and make logical sense. I think in this particular post Benicar's argument revolve around the fact that children are not afforded special consideration. And my post tries to refute that.
