Congressman Steve King, the ranking member on the House Immigration Subcommittee, today reacted to this afternoon's White House immigration summit. Despite serving as the top Republican on the House subcommittee that deals with immigration issues, Congressman King - along with other Republican enforcement first leaders - was not invited to attend the summit.
Quote:
Despite overwhelming opposition to amnesty within the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Lamar Smith of Texas will be the lone House Republican invited who opposes comprehensive amnesty. The White House stacked the deck and packed today's summit with amnesty advocates. President Obama wants an amnesty bill, and while cynically creating a false perception of inclusiveness and bipartisanship, brought in a group that, almost without exception, supports his vision of rewarding law breakers.

Well, well, well. I'm not surprised at all.

Apparently, this is must be part of the 'change', 'hope' and 'transparency' in government that Obama promised to deliver all along.

For every illegal working in America, there are two Americans who need a job. American workers are depending on President Obama to protect their jobs from those illegally in America, and the majority of the American public does not support amnesty. "By not engaging with those who disagree with his pro-amnesty views, President Obama is holding an immigration summit that gives a cold shoulder to millions of Americans. As for me, I would much rather be on the outside of the White House speaking up for the Rule of Law than on the inside going through the motions."
Obama will gain nothing by ignoring the will of the people. He certainly won’t gain a second term.

Maybe Maobama's thinking is that if he can get 20 million illegal alien future Democratic voters if amnestied, legalized, now is the time to do it. Acorn will need as much time as they can get in order to register as many as they can of these 20 million illegal alien Democratic voters for 2010 and 2012. Sure they'll be defections from former Maobama supporters who are utterly appalled by Maobama's left wing socialist politicies but with 20 million new illegal alien Democratic voters it may not matter.

That may certainly be his plan. We can only hope he will lose more votes than he will gain from illegal aliens.

Agreed.. As Stated before, Legalizing Illegal Aliens will spell "Political Suicide" for this Administration.. As once legalized, the "new former Illegal Citizens" won't care about voting or politics, they already got what they wanted, instead they will be too busy lining up for Government sponsored programs such as Welfare and Food Stamps that the lines will go for miles..

Actually if you are poor and a citizen you are about 100% covered.
welfare, food stamps, medicaid, HUD, education grants and affirmative action.

Not 100% true: if you are a non Hispanic male...........AA would not apply.

Define 'Hispanic', I realize----------although anymore, it and 'Latino' are code words for Mestizos/Latin American Indians with preferably Spanish surnames. Never mind a Navajo Indian with the last name 'Rodriguez' would not count.
