brianlee: Poll: Mexicans Say Amnesty Would Increase Illegal Immigration

39 million Mexicans say they would immigrate to the US if they could. An amnesty would trigger that stampede.

I thought you knew all of the polls that contradict the pro-illegal side are racist. This is based purely on lies by Mexican-haters.

Based strictly on the Illegal Alien apologist's feedback I would but..... it's not, so I don't.

Of COURSE it would increase illegal immigration. Amnesty is nothing more than an APPROVAL for having done things illegally. No message could be clearer.."If you want to DO something, and it's against the law, just DO it anyway. There's no penalty, and it beats the HELL out of staying home and missing out....or taking the time to do it legally. Nice guys are 'chumps'. The reward goes to he who isn't intimidated by some silly law. Never admit you're wrong, and don't take 'no' for an answer. Persistence makes 'right', no matter what the law says ".

That's EXACTLY what amnesty says.....and the message would eagerly be acted upon by future millions. I'm sure future attorneys (and the ACLU) would even cite amnesty as 'legal precedent' in making the case for MORE amnesties.

We had a BIG amnesty in '86 (3 million people). Many people TODAY expect amnesty, because of the message which that EARLIER amnesty sent. Imagine what THIS one will produce, 10 years hence.

Apparently the next wave will be 39 million more from Mexico alone!! Add in 10 million from Gautemala and you've just increased the population by more than many Countries have total.

Since most of that will be takers with little giving our Social Service network is going to crash and burn.

Lets learn from the documented flood after 1986's blunder.
20 million + later, I'm sure someone will deny it ever happened.

Agreed, and self deportation if possible. Make it so uncomfortable that they remove themselves the same way they snuck in.

of course, they are going to emigrate to the US. here is a recent chart on the cantarell oil field production of mexico (where mexico draws most of its income from oil):
Chart Of The Day: Production From The Once-Giant Mexican Cantarell Oil Field | Daily Markets

as you can see, their oil field production is in decline which is going to trigger yet more economic instability in mexico, which naturally would result in an exodus if that option was available.

we can see this coming yet our government leaders are so short-sighted that they can't think beyond winning the next election, so screw the american worker and the american taxpayer! we have an overabundance of labor in this country, coupled with rising unemployment, yet our government is willing to allow more immigration and more dilution/destruction of the labor pool.

How credible is a poll commissioned by an anti-immigrant group? Why don't you guys post polls from neutral sources instead?
