No we dont have it here. Here we alow fake documents to go undetected and the requirements to prove they are legal vary and are unclear. The employers cop out and say they "didnt know because their so called documents seemed real" In canada they only have ONE document that cant be faked and the workers cant leave a job they have been approved to work. We could use this simple system if we only would. I think there is a hidden agenda NOT to want a system that really works. If we were to have it here millions of illegals would find themselves out of work and would have to self deport. The corrupt politicians dont want that. They will talk the talk until elected and then do nothing about it but more talk.

Here is the thing though...the employer is wrong, the employee is wrong...How about the government for withdrawing taxes from an invalid social security number?

If all parties are wrong for ID theft, I dont see why we are only holding one party accountable for the crime commited.
My guess is because the people complaining physically "see" the illegal guy riding a bike and walking down their streets. They "see" and "hear" Spanish in their stores and schools. They don't "see" or "hear" the rich employer or the government, so they go undetected.

There is a word for that.... oh yeah "ignorance".

That is precisely why they oppose E-Verify. They know if the jobs are eliminated, illegals will self-deport. We don’t need immigration reform, we need immigration enforcement.

I am sure there a many cases where the employers did know that the documents were fake but there are just as many cases whereby the employer didn't know because the paperwork is so authentic looking or the SS number provided is a real one but stolen. That is why we need e-verify so that they can check a database which is nearlly 100% accurate as to the authenticity and validity of a potential hire's documents and SS number.

If the employer actually pays them - but a crook is a crook, it's likely most don't pay the taxes to the government even if they withhold them from the illegal.
