There he was given the option to pay bond or wear an ankle bracelet to track his movements. He left with a misdemeanor drunk-driving conviction, an ankle bracelet and a court date.

Chicago's status as a "sanctuary city," passed as an executive order in 1985 by then-Mayor Harold Washington, prohibits city employees from enforcing immigration law. Padilla and city advocates have argued that his experience shows a violation of this ordinance.

Padilla has found wide support for his fight against the deportation order in this city he considers home.

The Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights said "the removal of Rigoberto Padilla is a tragedy for him, his family, and our entire community." With them, the marchers had more than 9,000 petitions in a box with a photo of 6-year-old Padilla taped to the front.

That’s just what we need. . . . another drunk driver. Is there ever an instance in which pro-illegals do not rely on deception to support their agenda? Why would they carry a sign containing a picture of this drunk driver at the age of 6? Oh, that’s’ right. . . one of their strategies is to use baby or childhood pictures to garner sympathy. Apparently they don’t realize we were all once children, even the most vicious criminals. However, he did not drive drunk as a child, he was an adult; and he could have easily killed others.

DREAM recipients are a diverse bunch and we would like to showcase this. We are asking that you submit a picture (baby picture preferred) with a quick caption mentioning where you are from and how long you have lived in the US. This will then be posted on the DREAMactivist.org site (under the "about us" tab).

That Padilla piece of junk needs to booted out of the USA---------no questions asked. Needless to say: take a sample of his DNA, fingerprint him, etc. and if ever caught here again-------to prison he goes.

Another example of entitlement from Illegals. All this knucklehead had to do was keep it clean and he probably would have been fine. Instead he chose to take huge risks by driving drunk, now he's going to pay for his own stupidity. He thought he could do whatever he wanted to here, think again.

That is something I will never understand. For some pro-illegals, any cause involving an illegal alien is worthy of their support. Don’t they realize we must choose our battles?

This is the case for many extremist groups. They grab any and all hoping that numbers will carry the day. They forget that credibility matters more than shear numbers.
Its good to see that both sides agree on this particular issue.
