A solar border wall is a conundrum. Solar is a renewable energy that the Left loves but a wall being built from them would block their future voters from sneaking in. I wonder if they would be happy if would be illegals get to help build the wall on the Mexico side?
I like Trumps thinking, a "Green" Wall will have the Lefties guessing. This just might work....
What would stop the Mexicans and others who want to try to cross the border from damaging the solar as much as they possibly can, rocks, shooting it etc, I think it would be a terrible idea in much of the area it would cover.
No! Almost all Solar panels are made in China using the dirtiest coal fired power plants in the world, being shipped here on Fuel Oil powered ships? How is that good that for the environment

That would certainly be a big issue but tthe solar panels are flat horizontal surface or at a slight angle and if incorporated could greatly enhance the security of such wall. You could incorporate this so there is overhang on the Mexican side making it much more difficult to get over it. Being unable to see the panels may also prevent a lot vandalism.
It's an ides that would need a lot of study but by combing two projects into one you will save on total construction costs compared to if they were built separately. Other benefits would be power for lights, cameras motion sensors etc. Larger presence of people in the area....
Sounds like a good Idea but you cant trust Trump, just another opportunity.
