With national unemployment hovering around 10 percent and black male unemployment at a staggering 17.6 percent, it's just not true that undocumented workers are doing the jobs that we won't do.
It is not just 'Black' American that illegal immigration hurts. That stated: the 'tipping point' may have been reached that our Benicar has been alluding to for a while now.
Thinsg are fixin' to become very 'interesting' unless Obama and c. really 'crak the whip' against illegal aliens and their enablers.
BTW: the Root is not exactly a fringe organization either-----------it receives lots of coverage from MSNBC.

More and more Americans are becoming enlightened and are tired of illegal aliens taking from this country with no positive contribution in return.
A majority of Americans and an even higher number of Black Americans probably voted for Obama,and to those who did I hope they are enjoying that special "Historic Moment".Obama and his policies are bankrupting the country.Like Bush Jr. and McCain,Obama is another political hack in a long line of Hispandering politicians.He needs to show some leadership and address this issue,afterall he stated he would look into it in his first year.What a shocker!!!Another Obama lie!!!!His Administration is grasping at anything possible and trying to spin the data as proof America is seeing an end to the reccession while millions of Americans are out of work(Another Obama gem is when he stated UE #"s would not rise past 8%).It's hightime for him to secure the border and enforce Immigration laws.But more than likely he will half*ss it. http://economy.freedomblogging.com/2...january/27613/ Here is a link for his ever improving Employment picture in Calif.,If you wait long enough someone in his Administration will spin this and tell you it's more"green shoots" springing up as proof that the economy is booming!!!

The idea is that there is wage deflation due to an influx of illegal immigrants. There are couple of factors that people need to look at. Median income of both illegal immigrants and African Americans, Average income of illegal immigrants and African Americans, and what industries exhibited a demographic shift from AA to II.
Median Income Illegal Immigrants: $37,000
Median Income African Americans: $34,000
Average Income Illegal Immigrants: $45-46,000
Average Income African Americans: $47,000
This means that there are more higher earning African Americans than high earning illegal immigrants. However, the lower median income means that African Americans are more likely to be paid less than illegal immigrants. Logically this means that it's not due to illegal immigration, since illegal immigrants are paid more. If wage depression were caused SOLELY by illegal immigration, then one would expect illegal immigrants to have lower wages.
As for industries, across the board we know that due to low educational attainment both illegal immigrants and African Americans are in either lower end service sector jobs or blue collar work. Illegal immigrants are more likely to be employed in agriculture than African Americans.
With that, the largest barrier is not competition, but rather changes in market (less of a manufacturing economy and more a white collar economy). The service sector jobs that replaced the manufacturing jobs pay less, which has led to rising unemployment and wage stagnation within the African American community. These market changes, and not illegal immigration, are the larger issues facing African Americans as well as other demographics in the United States.
i don't know where you are getting your statistics and your "facts" to back these statements that you make. the truth is that a poor illegal immigrant population is driving the wages down in this country, increasing the expenses, and lowering wages for all americans, which you will have anytime you have a SURPLUS of workers.

those percentage changes are huge for one year. this is not an economy that is in recovery mode, so clearly adding a large illegal immigrant population has done NOTHING to help our economy.

However, you not accounting for the fact that lack of educational attainment (coupled with increased outsourcing and automation of jobs) cause higher chances of unemployment than illegal immigrants (which comprise a tiny percentage of workers overall). The net number of jobs lost due to outsourcing and automation is higher than illegal immigration, plain and simple.

Hopsitals are closing due to the fact that millions of AMERICANS don't have health insurance. There are more people without insurance than illegal immigrants. Not to mention a good percentage of illegal immigrants have health insurance.
Not all hispanics are illegal first. Secondly, out of the two million in jail in the United States, only 88,000 were non-citizens (thus, could be either a non-citizen national, or illegal immigrant). U.S. Prison Population Tops 2 Million
