In regards to trying to get illegals to foot the bill for their own deportations - in many cases it's like trying to get blood out of a turnip - I guess one could do it, but don't expect windfall profits

In regards to billing countries that have illegals crossing, that may be hard to implement considering the way international relations works - a lot of times it's like dealing with different mafia groups. How will the US get other countries to pay?

Through financial aid reductions, if they refuse to pay. A similar bill has been introduced in regards to medical reimbursements for their unpaid hospital bills.

And how will those countries retaliate in response? Do you want to start a vicious diplomatic cycle?

Think about Latin America's political situation. Venezeula could offer to make up for whatever the US cuts, and Venezuela could increase its influence in the region at the US's expense.

You have got to be kidding. That tired comparison? One didn't want to come here, the other is dying to.

Maybe you guys with the illegal businesses using them as pawns need to kick in a few bucks to take care of the deed instead of sucking off the US tax payers subsidizing your work force?

I think it's called, "pull your weight" or something like that.

Employers hire illegals primarily because they can pay them less. Illegals tend to work harder and complain less because the employer will just hire another illegal in his place. Too many Americans want something for nothing so they pay peanut wages. If I hire someone to perform a service for me like yard work I pay them a good wage. Illegal immigrants should not be payed less than American citizens because of his legal status. When illegals are willing to accept a lower wage they are only hurting themselves and keeping wages stagnant

Let Hugo Chavez try his hand at controlling Mexico. That tin horn dictator is having problems at home (Venezuela) and is likely to be overthrown or killed soon.

Latin America needs to grow up. With the possible exceptions of Chile or Costa Rica..........that whole region is a basketcase.
