Enable scofflaws and demonize patriots....what a stategy.
If the gate must swing, it should swing in both directions. Americans should be allowed the same opportunity to travel, work, start businesses, purchase homes, enroll in schools, secure medical and social benefits, march, petition, organize, demonstrate, fly our flag, drive without license, registration, insurance; bring our families, work the beach resorts and mountain retreats; eschew learning the language; and maintain, influence and spread our customs and culture in the illegal's nations.
Fat chance. Doubtless, it would transform their inept and corrupt governances for the better, as they were dragged into the 21st century. To continue the one way onslaught is to kill the Golden Goose. Freedom should ring across the near borders and nations with reciprocity. The mismanagement of these naturally gifted Countries (ocean resources, oil, timber, labor, agriculture, minerals, natural gas, tourism); has crippled their citizens, and is destroying our sovereign Nation. If we are to (apparently) relinquish our sovereignty, at the least, we should insist the melting pot include other countries of the Americas.
Sadly, none of the venal leaderships involved are disposed to administer their duties for the long term benefit of the citizens. Thus, betrayed, the United States and it's legal citizens stand in meek witness, as hyenas, both foreign and domestic, bring down the Cape Buffalo.
