Here is a cold, hard fact for those who seek to oppose the Arizona immigration law through boycotts of the state or its products, services or even its sports teams: You're cooked. Your indignation is only hardening the resolve of those who've adopted a zero-tolerance stance toward people living here illegally.
Nor are many Americans being swayed by media stories, including a recent network TV segment, that seem to suggest the U.S. is deliberately, or at least negligently, making it dangerous for Mexicans to cross the border illegally.
Again, the results of public opinion polls are clear. Americans are frustrated with the nation's high unemployment rate. Mostly low-paying jobs that a few years ago they were content to leave to illegal residents and others, they now feel possessive of.

Now throw in the boycotts of Arizona by various governments and organizations. Many Americans are not only annoyed, but also puzzled, by these actions. To them, the Arizona law is common sense. Now illegal immigration may move from being just another news story to a dominant political theme. America's mood in this election year is getting surly. We shall see.
Beautiful!!!This keeps the issue at the forefront and Obama cannot ignore it forever and it WILL take center stage in California's Governors race.Vote Poizner !!!!
I think this is very correct. Even mild mannered, easy going, "whatever..." folks are now forced to confront what is going on and they are getting riled. I think the time has come for change! The cloak of Political Correctness is falling and the emperor's nakedness is being realized.
The major point is that all of this boycotting that many think are supportive are definitely not yet they keep doing it! Talk about cutting the nose off to spite the face. Seems this mindset never learns.
Not only are people MAD that city councils are voting on boycotting a state that is common sense, they are MAD that their elected officials are wasting on tax money on things like this when cities including LA are in debt up to their necks.
The country has gone insane. I'm wondering how they got to our water supply...thank God mine is well water!
But thankfully, many citizens are regaining their sanity and seeing these boycotts for what they really are....citizens and "others" urging fellow citizens to boycott Arizona citizens for the sole benefit of criminal invaders!
In a more sane world, all those (especially elected officials) advocating and demanding boycotts would be charged with treason.
