If I was in that situation, I'd do what I'm supposed to do; GET AN FARKING CITIZENSHIP FORM, NOT A BACKPACK AND A BOTTLE OF WATER!
The argument I always here is that they are too poor to do it the legal way. Bull****... Millions of Irish came here with $0.02 in their pockets and literally starving from the potato famine. Granted the U.S. was taking all of them in and they didn't have to do a bunch of expensive legal paperwork, but I'll bet 3rd class on some crappy ocean liner at that time cost a lot more than having some legal work done today.
I'm not saying Irish people are better than Mexican people; what I'm saying it that they are now a respected group of American society cause they worked their butts off and came here the right way. They didn't break the law to get here so they could have something for nothing.
My family has been here since the late 1800s. But I am now very worried that because I have a Hispanic surname me, my kids, and my grandkids will be stuck with a negative racial stigma for generations just because the government wouldn't do it's damn job and because millions of Mexicans decided it was okay to ignore the laws of our country.
States can enforce federal laws. That's not really the issue. The problem is conviction under the Federal law is a misdemeanor, which does not necessarily lead to deportation under current policy. Conviction under the state law is a felony which nearly automatically results in deportation and no chance of ever being allowed back in legally.
It's been a felony to enter the US illegally since 1926. Federal law.
How do they demand handouts? Most are working and paying into social security, which they will never be able to collect.
I heard Bill Clinton make this same statement. Ever heard of earned income credit ? I promise they will take far more out of the system then they put in. The whole idea of them paying in money that they will never get back is simply untrue.
I used to accept the illegals (and even defend them), but I finally realized what they are, and that is they are cockroaches. They feed on us and ruin our lives as Americans. There are some of them that are hard working good people, but they are in the minority. In general, they come here to exploit us, and they are succeeding. Read this and tell me how they do not demand handouts.

And wasn't it Geo Bush jr who thought illegals should get "their" SS back after working only 6 years (illegally of course, but that's ignored) while US citizens and legal immigrants must work TEN years (or 40 quarters) before they can get anything back from SS.
Oh, and fwiw, as a LEGAL migrant, I was informed that while I had to pay into SS & MC, if I left this country without becoming a citizen before the 10 years were worked, then I would forfeit ALL rights to any of those monies deducted from my paychecks.
They are leaving here (AZ) in droves. They are moving to NM, CA, CO, TX and Mexico, etc.. I don't blame them. Hopefuly our new law will wake up the nation. I have no idea who will trim my palm trees anymore, but I did see white guys working on my neighbors roof this week. That would never have happened a month or two ago.
What is in droves? Az has an estimated 400K aliens, how many have left AZ since the new law? and how can you prove it.
They came to the US to have better lives.
Just like OUR relatives did in the past.
I do not remember OUR relatives, asking the Native Americans for permission to settle here?
My guess is, if the illegals were all Swedes or German's.

My Spanish and Italian Ancestors also came to this Country a long long long time ago. But my Ancestors did it by Legal Means. And one of the first course of actions, was making sure THEY LEARNED THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, which they did, and spoke in the home to their children, Native Language was now 2nd. And once here, they worked damn hard, to see to it that their children, were going to have a good and decent life, put forth by hard work, which by the way, has paid off.

That is the difference between immigrants coming here legally and illegally. The ones who came here legally like my Polish ancestors wanted to be Americans in every way because they knew they were staying permanantly. They learned English and insisted that their children did likewise and it was spoken in the home as much as possible. The illegals especially from south of our border are mostly here for the economic benefits and know they can get booted out at any time therefore they don't feel the need to assimilate to our country's language and culture. They settle into Spanish speaking enclaves and colonize instead of assimilating.

Well the indians are pretty well off for being the victims of us crackers. I wished I owned a casino.
We cant go back and change the past, it is what it is and if you want to shrivel up and be run over because you feel our ancestors were naughty, then go ahead. I would be just as angry at Swedes, or Germans or any other nations illegal immigrants taking our jobs and our welfare resources, but typically, the Swedes and Germans and Canadians are fairly well educated and come in the right way and do not suck up our food stamps. They may compete for your engineering job however. You are the racist or perhaps a closet racist and your guilt pushes you to extremes.
