actually that was the score of the bears-skins game back in 1940!

not only is that the largest margin of defeat (and shut out) in NFL history but the bears did it in the Championship game to boot!

The Vikings will be decent, but the problem with them is the fact Tavaris Jackson sucks and his name does as well.

The Pack will be ok, but people will see just how much Favre made half the team better. Rodgers in not going to be as good as advertised.

In the end I think the Bears will win the division.

I don't think anyone had high expectations for Rodgers this year, so I'm not sure what you're talking about.

We'll see about that. I'm sure the Bears will find a way to screw it up. Let's see how they look after a few more games. I'm still predicting 8-8 for the Bears this year. But maybe that will be good enough to win this hapless division.

The Green Bay Packer brass did otherwise they would have let Favre come back with the Pack.

I'm pretty sure that's why they used that specific score when they made the Superfans: Jeopardy episode...or maybe I just transposed that score for what they said on SNL...in any case, it comes from probably the funniest skit I've ever seen on SNL.

I agree that the Bears might be the division favorite at this point, especially with a convincing win over the Colts.

As for Rodgers, several QBs sat for the first 2-3 years of their career and did pretty well; Steve Young comes to mind, tho that 49er team was stacked when he got the job. Not that I necessarily want them to, but if the Pack starts winning, the memory of Favre will slowly fade, and Rodgers was pretty well polished when he came out of Cal.

I was bracing for a 5-11 team. They're better than I thought.

Now all of a sudden the Pack looks like the darling of the division. Bears' offense looked rough today, putting up a total of 10 points. And they can thank the defense for 7 of those 10 points with a red-zone fumble recovery. Orton's long ball sucks, Olsen couldn't hold on to a ball if it were glued to his hands (he pretty much singlehandedly lost this game), they couldn't convert a crucial first down in the last drive of the game with 2nd and 2, and there were a couple of dropped passes that were right on the money. If Orton get get the long ball back (his Purdue days shows that he has the ability, he's probably just rusty), that will help stretch out the field and make Forte even more dangerous. And goddammit, can't we get some receivers who can catch a freakin' ball? Oh yeah, we had one -- and then we let him go back to Carolina.

As for the Pack and Rodgers... I think we got a good glimpse of what to expect from him when he kept the team in the game against the Cowboys last year after Favre left the game. He looks to be the real deal.

I'm one of those rare birds who will cheer both the Bears and the Packers. When they meet head-to-head, I'll default to the Bears. But it doesn't break my heart when the Packers do well either.
