Khabi's salary, Torchetti, Waite, Havlat's shoulder, Huet's salary, and some would say Tallon. Just some guesses....

Blues won 6-1 today, so we're 3-1-0. Obviously it's still early, though. But both the Blackhawks and Blues have a young team with great prospects, so both should be very good as the next couple years progress.
Hey, 3-1 is better than 1-3.

But yes, its definitely extremely early, here's to hopin the Hawks/Blueser rivalry gets to be like it used to be. I bloody hate the Bluesers.

All except Huet were brought in when the Hawks were not a very desirable place for free-agents and Tallon was hampered by "dollar" Bill Wirtz. He did seem to make mistakes earlier in his run, learning on the job. Wirtz hired him because he trusted guys who had been with the Blackhawks and didn't want to pay a more proven GM.
Isn't Tallon the guy who has had apart in the strong drafts of the last few years?
The Huet signing and then trying to shed Khabi was odd. Perhaps it lit a fire under both goalies *ss to step up their game. Perhaps it's having proven insurance since Khabi seems to get hurt and miss a few games each year.
I think the timing sucks. Reminds me of firing Biily Reay. One way loyalty for an organization that expects you to "commit to the Indian". Should have given Savvy a couple more weeks. It's an 82 game marathon, not a 16 week sprint like football!! What is this cr*% about a flat training camp?! They lose only 1 game. Perhaps more honesty saying, "We really like whay Savvy does for this team, we just had an opportunity to bring someone in who we feel can add even more. We are rewarding Savvy by giving him a bonus of $ for his loyalty and dedication to the organization." These innuendos are low class for an organization that I thought had, finally, gone beyond being low class.

As far as that aspect goes (dirty moves), the Hawks will always be "low class". However, Savvy's firing shows to me that Rocky is willing to do whatever it takes to get the Hawks back into Cup contention. I LOVE Savard, he will be sorely missed, and yes, the move was very questionable. I just hope it doesnt backfire on the front office like the Khabi signing, etc. I, er WE, Hawks fans now have even bigger expectations of the team now that JQ is in charge. I wonder what will happen to Torch and Tallon now? If Savvy was on that short of a leash, I think Dale will be history soon, maybe by the end of October if things dont start picking up.

Are you thinking Scotty Bowman becomes GM? I don't know if the Khabi signing is neccesarily bad. He certainly hasn't played like he did during Tampa's Stanley Cup drive. But he sure did look solid Monday night. Did you here Savvi's interview on The Score? WHAT A CLASS ACT!!

Didnt hear Savvy's interview, was it that good? He's always been classy, I wouldnt expect anything else from that guy. Such a shame to see him gone.

Khabi was a horrible signing. Well, at least for the price it was. 6.75 million a year for 4 years? What has he shown us? I can count on one hand how many great games he's had in the last 3 years. Not cool. We need a Luongo, a Brodeur, a Lundqvist, a Legace, a Nabokov, a.... I dont care! Just a solid, reliable goaltender, which Khabi hasnt been. I love the guy, but he's just not cutting it.

Legace is in his contract year, but he's done fairly well so far.

Mason, who had one start and gave up 5 goals, has a burst appendix, so he'll be out 2-3 weeks. I guess the backup goalie tomorrow will be Marek Schwarz.

Manny Legace really wants to come back and play in St. Louis, but with young goalies waiting behind him, he has to continue to play very well.

He did well on Saturday night.

Oh well, at least we got a point out of that game. I couldnt believe how St. Loser came back and scored with 13 seconds left in the 3rd. UGH!!! Then Kane once again did the same ol maneuver in the SO. As great as he is, he needs to find a better deke than the one he is using. Goalies have caught on to it and now he has blown 4 SO attempts, its too readable. But I believe he has now gotten 5 or 6 points in his last 2 games, rock on!

Oh, great game against the Canucks last night, too.

LETS GO HAWKS!

Apparently there was a fight in the stands Saturday night.

One Hawks fan got his jersey pulled over his head and thrown into the lower bowl. Another drunk, shirtless Hawks fan was lead away in handcuffs. Sounds like it was a couple Hawks fans against a bunch of Blues fans. I don't know who started it.

Blues and Hawks fans were escorted out of the arena.

Here they go again.
