Thanks to corrupt gov ( Who should spare IL. further embarrasment and just go away), we have to figure out how to get Obama replacement.

Should there be:
1) Election,
2) Bloggo appt or,
3) Appt by Lt. Gov when he assumes Gov. role in january.

A general election for one seat is hugely expensive and there is no guarantee anyone would bother to vote. And it can't be done in 30 days' not enough time to print and deliver to polling places. Let Quinn or the legislature appoint him/her. There's less than 30 days to get it done.

It should be an election but just as the GOP was tarred by Ryan's screw-up the Dems know they'd be nailed by Blago idiot move. It will be an appointment made by Quinn, probably after a panel endorses some toady that can be made to look not-too-horrible...

whoever is appointed will have to face re-election in less than 2 years anyways. If the person if appointed or supported by Blago- their defeat in 2010 is a near certainty- possibly even in the primaries.

Quinn appointment. Second choice: Legislative appointment, like before they changed the law in the early 1900's. The GOP can go scratch. $20 million spent just so they can get another bite of the apple? That's fiscally irresponsible.

We elected those folks to make decisions and now should live with that fact.
