Just wondering about the area right above Saint Charles, MO or West County MO. Just across the border into Illinois. Does it differ that much from MO? Laws, towns, crime, etc. Does anyone know good areas with acres?

IL is a farm state. It is dominated by farms and ranches. IL is a NO conceal carry, no smoking, and no cell or texting while driving state, and it is a union state. Real Estate Taxes are higher. Currently, the state Income Tax is a flat 3%. and the grocery tax os 1%. License plates and drivers license is much higher. Illinois has 102 counties, and outside of Chicago most os them are made up of small farm communities. It is the 6th most populated state. Healh laws are stricter, gasoline, booze and cigarettes are more costly, but car and house insurance is about the same. The cost of rent may be similar. The economy is no better than Missouri except in a few areas.
