For a planned visit to Purdue University I'm considering two of the cheapest places to stay: Campus Inn or Purdue Village. About both I read negative reviews, especially about cleaniness and amenities.

I know this is a very old thread, but on the off chance that someone stumbles across this during a web search, I feel that I MUST say the following: STAY AWAY FROM PURDUE VILLAGE, The place is a MASSIVE CESSPIT. It its literally the area of campus where they shove students incapable of assimilation or problem students. The housing is in shambles and the buildings are roach infested. It is HORRIBLE. There is a REASON it is far away from campus and across the busiest highway in the area. The whole place is garbage, and the management is equally as bad.
