Autism Conference: Technologies for Language Intervention in Patients with Non-Verbal Autism (Indianapolis: university, live)

My name is Jane Yip and on behalf of Purdue University, we are organizing a conference on a much needed topic; how to help non-verbal children with autism communicate more effectively. The event is catered at the beautiful Ruth Lily Learning Center, Riley Children’s Hospital, in Indianapolis, IN on September 15, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The conference will consist of two parts as follows: (i) the morning session will have invited speakers including Dr. Oliver Wendt who recently released the Ipad version of PECS. Also featured are two well-known speech and language pathologists who have specialties in the area of non-verbal autism; Dr. Joanne Gerenser of Staten Island, New York and Dr. Mareile Koenig of West Chester University, PA. (ii) The afternoon session will be a parent break-out panel discussing hands on methods to help with communication.
