Hi everyone,

I'll be moving to southeastern Indiana soon and I was looking at the 3 towns listed above. I wanted to know if anyone has any pros, cons, warnings, or advice about which would be better and why.

I am looking for a bigger house, 2000 sqft+, in town or country is fine either way, I don't care about acreage, I have to drive to Cincinnati so the commute is important, I would like the area to be low in crime, and budget is around $200k. Thank you for any and all help.

I am by no means an expert on the area, having only lived here for 2yrs. What I can tell you is that Lawrenceburg and Aurora bump on on each other so there probably isn't much difference between the 2. Lawrenceburg is closer to 275 so it won't be that difficult to get to Cinci. From Aurora, you would have to drive through Lawrenceburg to get to 275. It's only about 3 miles from Lawrenceburg to Aurora. I am not sure of the morning / evening traffic. Rising Sun is a bit further west. You would have to drive about 10 additional miles from Aurora to get to Lawrenceburg / Aurora. Rising Sun is a bit isolated compared to the other 2. Lawrenceburg has about 5k people but it does seem a bit larger as it runs into Aurora and Greendale. You may also consider looking at Harrison or Cleves Ohio which will be an easier commute to Cincinnati and still be 15 min from Lawrenceburg.

(Aurora, Ind.) – The Disaster Recovery Center in Aurora is moving to a new location.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency and Indiana Department of Homeland Security opened a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) last week to assist area residents impacted by Ohio River flooding in February and March.

Hi. I am looking for a southern small town in Indiana. Safe. Walkability. Pet friendly space to rent, either cheap studio or above a business. Part-time job seeker. Retired single lady looking to relocate. Any help would be great! Thank you.

I would recommend the Hidden Valley and Bright areas of Dearborn County if you can swing the housing prices. It is better to be at a higher elevation out of the polluted Ohio Valley whenever possible. Madison, IN is surrounded by coal power plants on all sides, no thanks.
