How common are the chinook winds or föhn winds in Indiana, especially during winter?

Having grown up there I didn’t ever experience chinooks. Generally warm ups in the winter are rainy days.

You have to go a bit further west to get chinooks. Kansas City for example gets them from time to time.

Missouri River westward is where chinook winds become more common, especially the further west you go (West of 100 degrees longitude). There are some outlying events where warming gets east of the Missouri River and into the Corn Belt, but it is less common and not frequent at all.
