Can anyone tell me what they think about zip code 46280? My husband is thinking about going to law school at the University of Indiana- Indianapolis next fall. We are a biracial couple with a two year old daughter (if that really matters) and I am really involved with taking our daughter to the library, and recreation classes (dance, early preschool skills classes, etc.). From what I saw the 46280 zip code is pretty nice and not too far away from university. Also, I like that it's close to Carmel, which has tons of things for my daughter to do. Also, I'll note we are LDS or Mormon (again if that matters) and we are from Las Vegas, NV. Please give me your honest opinions.

There's 1 ward in Carmel, and 2 in Fishers. Is there a chance that you will be visiting both before coming from LV? I have several LDS friends here in Columbus, but living here would be a hike for IUPUI law school, about an hour commute for classes.

When we lived in Fishers, I went to the Carmel Gymboree all the time and both town's parks & rec departments offer a lot of activities for little ones. The parks themselves are top notch. You'll also have to get a membership to the Children's Museum of Indianapolis.

As to you're being a bi-racial couple ... honestly, it shouldn't make a hill of a difference.

Welcome

Thank you for your reply. Once my husband is accepted (fingers crossed), we would like to come visit Indiana and the wards to help with our decision. It's kind of scary, since we have been in Las Vegas our whole lives.
I checked on mapquest and it said that these townhomes/condos on Sierra Springs Dr. and also on Haven Point Blvd. were less than 10 miles from campus. Is that accurate?

That's about right ... 15 miles tops. Depending on the time of day he's going to campus, it should take a half hour or so. Not sure if that zip code is in one of the Fishers wards or Carmel ward though ...
