I visited a Gold's Gym tonight on Michigan and 86th. It's the nicest health club I have seen. I haven't been in that many, though. But I much prefer
the Gold Gym to the three Cardinal Fitness gyms I have visited thus far.
I have only been to gyms on the North side of Indy.

Default A non political response.

Have you tried Lifetime Fitness on 86th across from Castleton Mall?

Or if you are looking downtown, NIFS is an excellent fitness center.

I used to work out at Bally's and didn't really like it that much. Now, I go to Eclipse Fitness at 116th and Keystone and it's awesome. They have awesome weights, machines, cardio area and kid's play area.

Have you looked at the YMCA? Each Y is different but it has what most people need without the 'gym' attitudes.

The Y in Fishers is tremendous. I think they recently rehabbed the one out near Fort Ben.

They did redo the one over at Ft. Ben, but to me it still is not as nice as the one on the Southside. That being said, I work at Ft. Ben so that's the one that I would always go to.

I think the new Gold's in NICE. The cardio "theatre" w/ flat screens in awesome, if that's your thing!
Lifetime Fitness is nice and I think it is 24 hrs. Pricey!
Bally's has lost it's quality...
Healthplex is nice and pricey too!
But I'd choose a local Y over any of the gyms due to price and offerings for kids (if you have them).
Depends on what your fitness needs are and if you want to be close by for working out or not.

Default Lifetime Family Fitness (Be Cautious)

Before you join Lifetime Family Fitness, be sure to read all their legal terms, otherwise they will get you on legal terms about terminating contract, specially when you cancel their membership. And they are very stringent about their termination policy.

Their Trial period is even worst, You will loose anywhere from $70 - $90 depending on your starting date, as they charge you prorated for current month + Application fee + Next Month + one additional month. Yes this is true...!!!

Worst of all, None of this is refundable, unless you play their game...

I used to go to Bally Fitness, but am now at Cardnial Fitness. I liked the size of Bally's, as well as the amount of equipment, but it was running me about $35 a month with a contract.

Cardnial is very small, has all the basics, and only $20 with no contract.

It depends on what you want.
