Where does Indy rank on the political spectrum?

Socially?

Patrickmich ... don't read this, I'm about to spout politics:

Indianapolis itself, has a democrat mayor, but the governor of the state is republican. Indy, like most urban areas, tend to be more democrat/liberal, but I personally get the feel that Indy is much like the rest of the state, conservative republican. Check out the Indianapolis Star's opinion/politics pages. Other than Dan Carpenter and Ken Bode's commentaries, everything is pretty conservative.

Definately more conservative than Louisville. I lived and worked in Indianapolis after Louisville, and Indy is markedly more conservative.

Cincinnati is more conservative than both, IMO.

I've read some posts about this before but... If you do not go to church, will people care?

No. I don't go to church and I've never felt like folks are judging me. But again, I never care or pay attention to how people react to stuff like that because it's my life, it's none of their business anyway.

Indy is too big for anyone to care about your political or religious affiliations. You wont find a lot asking what you "are" here. There is lively debate but overwhelmingly conservative regarding mainly money and you probably wont find us starting any trends.

Good and bad. Things dont get done but taxes are low.

I voted for a very young and liberal new politician because he took the time to visit his soon to be voters and personally explain his positions. He won.

But I have lived in a diverse downtown and in close in diverse areas (Butler Tarkington and Broad Ripple) and have not lived in a small isolated town or subdivision.
