after Mitch tossed out the erroneous tax assessments in Marion County, I am also all in favor of renaming the Geist Reservoir to *Mitch's Ditch*.

well, he's the Gov of Car-mel too. He's just spreading himself around to be closer to the people. Hanging out in that old stuffy mansion isn't the way a Governor of the people should live.

Nevermind that the indiana constitution stipulates that the governor live in the county in which the state government sits ...

but that was written back in the old days when the Governor's mansion was one of the best homes around. Would you want to live in that damp, cold and drafty old mansion on Meridian? Bet the basement/cellar doesn't even stay dry.

there's probably even asbestos in it.

They just rehabbed the thing 2 years ago. It's common knowledge that his wife never wanted anything to do with the place no matter what the condition. She said that the gov. mansion was more for govs who were from out of town. Gotta keep wifey happy. In the meantime, the Indiana tax payers are paying for the upkeep and no doubt, the tax bill. Why don't they just sell the thing on the open market. It's on a huge lot .. a developer could tear down the house and put 5 nice sized mcmansions on the property. They can call it Daniel's Last Cove or something.

will they make me sign a 'Waiver of All Liability and Release' if I try to buy the place so I can never sue the State for undisclosed defects the Seller knows about and didn't disclose?

Good luck ... those stupid disclosures the realtors make you fill out before listing aren't admissible in court.
