I feel bad for saying I don't like the Shrimp Cocktail, but now thanks to BU191433, I'm not the first to say it. I have been to St. Elmo's, and it's a great place, but I think maybe the build up for it was too great, maybe I expected too much. My best steak ever was next door at Harry & Izzy's.

So im curious have you eaten at St Elmo's before? if so what food was your favorite and how much did it cost?
Also i heard their steak is to die for? is it really good?
St. Elmo's is cool because of its history. The steaks are not very good quality and it's expensive. The shrimp cocktail is fun though.

Than you have never had good steak.

Of course it is. Some people love eating tyson chicken nuggets. Others like eating coq au vin.

My opinion is that the food is overpriced at St. Elmo's for the quality. I can buy a dry aged prime steak from my local butcher for 1/3 the price and of significantly higher quality. The navy bean soup is campbells out of a can btw.

I still think St. Elmo's is a nice enough place though, I like old school places that have been around forever. They have a great wine list too.

I enjoyed my meal there. I think the hype is what brings people in, but I thought the food, especially the shrimp cocktail were great. I remember craving it a few days afterwards, which I thought was weird.
