Russians primarily live in Carmel and on the north side. I have played soccer with them before. As somebody mentioned there is a lot of people from the former Yugoslavia more specifically Bosnia and Serbia in Indianapolis. There is in fact a Serbian Orthodox church on the north west side.

Default No longer to Indy...

So it looks like I may be going to Valparaiso, not Indy. No problem for me...closer to Chicago, with a little charm.

However, I doubt that there is any type of Eastern European Population in Valparaiso. If anyone knows that there is, I'd be happy to hear about it!

Вам спасибо!

Probably not a whole lot in Valparaiso, but you never know. It is a college town, so it'll be a bit more diverse than the average Indiana city of 35,000. Generally speaking, the northern part of Indiana has the most Slavic influence because of the industries up there. Mostly Polish, but not exclusively. And you'll be sort of close to Chicago, where of course the Slavic population is huge.

Valpo seemed like a pretty nice place the last time I was there, brief though it was. The combination of a university and a bedroom-community-distance from Chicago really helps.
