Yeah, I think it started early 2014. It doesn't have stations up and down the Monon or immediately on the Canal (though you can rent surrey bikes and there are stations right off the canal) and I think this is because it's supposed to be more a way for people who live downtown to survive without cars. There are a bunch of stations throughout downtown but you have to buy a 24 hour pass which gives you unlimited use in 30 minute intervals over a 24 hour period or an annual pass.The price goes up if you keep the bike for more than 30 minutes at a time. Therefore, I don't know that it's really aimed at the recreational bicyclist that wants to ride on the Monon or along the canal. But I'm not sure how the cost compares to the surrey bike rentals on the canal.
