The home has one furnace/ac. I don't excalty know the schools yet, trying to figure it out. I hear that the Carmel schools are good. Also, the property taxes are capped at 1% of the home market value.

I don't know of anyone who has a large house with a master bedroom above the garage and only one furnace/ac who thinks that does an adequate job heating and cooling.

3000 sq-ft and there is only one HVAC unit? Sorry, but it ain't gonna work. I live in S.C., 2700 sq-ft and have two units. While we normally don't have harsh winters, it make a difference even when the temperature is in the 40's.

As I said before, mention Beazer in these parts and you might as well duck. These are the kind of short-cuts Beazer (and others) take to keep their costs down.

Is this a good deal in north Indianapolis? Please give suggestions/comment.
Thanks!
NO!

This is what got us all into trouble, in the first place. Never buy a house in the primary market. A car doesn't drop $3,000 as soon as you drive it off the lot, just as a bushel of wheat doesn't drop as soon as you buy it. You merely overpaid $3,000 for the car from the dealer, and the proper value appeared when the item hit the secondary market. Does the car drop another $3,000 if the person who bought the car as soon as it left the lot sells it the next day? Of course, not.

Ditto a house. Nobody wants a new house, anyway, unless it's in West Clay. People want houses built in the 20's. Real houses. The Hoosier lack-of-taste obsession with a new house, and the Hoosier lack of basic economic education, is what caused the housing collapse in Indiana.

I apologize for my Hoosier lack of economic education in buying a home. Now you should apologize for being so offensive.

"Nonody wants a new house anyway" Wow, then why is it that new builds are up while sales of existing homes are falling? Why do people call me all the time, asking for homes built only within the past 5 years? Generalizations make me sad.

Although, later in your post you argue that hoosiers are "obsessed" with a new house.

So, which is it?

offer less.

Nationwide I really doubt we have seen a bottom (in RE), expect home prices here to drop further as a result.
