Which elected leader will soon rise up and tell everyone he/she will "do something" about this travesty? Maybe it is time for government to take over all media? Someone call Hugo Chavez ASAP.

How did Indy's NHL season go?

There's loads of Chicago fans in Indy. Indy's North Side is almost a Chicago suburb with all the Cub fans.

Except for me and several of my neighbors. But I wasn't cracking on baseball, Mr. Sensitive. Look around -- the average Hoosier couldn't give a fart less about hockey. That's not a knock on hockey. It's simply a reflection of local tastes. I don't follow it closely myself, but I don't hate on the sport either.

But based on this IBJ piece, it appears that the 500 banquet gets more viewers than I imagined -- roughly 80,000, which I'd bet lunch and a case of beer is more than would watch the Stanley Cup Finals on Channel 13, as sad as that may seem. I laugh at the people who are Indy fans during Football season and Chicago fans during Baseball season. Pick a city, and stick with it.

For those who have forgot, Indy is the racing capital of the world! The 500 is a long complicated event with many controversial things happening throughout the race (wrecks, near wrecks, fuel issues, driver controversies and disagreements, etc.. many of these are never reported in the papers or on the tv coverage) Many of the fans like to watch the banquet because the drivers talk about their race and some about what happened. If you are a true racing fan and have actually been to the race, you would understand.

I know plenty of people who were angry about this. There are more hockey fans than you think in Indiana.

Congrats. And I heard that it was reported on Dan Patrick's radio show that Indy had the sixth-best local TV ratings for last night's game. So, I guess there are more than 5 Blackhawks fans in Indy!

I guess as long as there isn't a race banquet going on, WTHR will go ahead and broadcast the Stanley Cup! Thank goodness there wasn't a race banquet!!!!
